Visayas

I will begin my journey in a little town in the Visayas, in the Panay Island.  Yes, where the famous Boracay is located.  It is a little quiant town, a place where everyone knew anyone.  A place where you can see a big bell on the church of St.Therese of Avila.  A place where I spend 8 yrs. of my childhood years, in the small elementary school near our small dwelling, in the church where I learned to pray and learn that there is God and in the plaza where I soent most of my memorable growing up days.

I love this town.  This is the only town that exists in my life.  This is a peaceful town, where my childhood friends are, La, Tan and Ru.  This is the town where I live with my 3 sisters, my mom, grandparents and spinster aunt.  These are the people that will shape my childhood years.

I used to watch many TV shows in our small black and white television.  This is my grandma's TV and as a child, I thought it was ours.  I never knew back then what we are.  In my eyes as a child, I am blessed.  We have beautiful sunday dresses, we eat good food and we have a TV.  We even have presents from our Aunts, Uncles and Grandpa on my mother side.  We visit them on weekends or whenever we want to.  They love us and showered us with love and everything that we want.  Everything is perfect on this little town.  We would go to church every sunday, we will be ecstatic when my papa will come home from a trip, we would play on Tan's and La's place.  We would go to school in our neat dresses, and 5 cents money, buy some small junk foods or banana cue and we would come home excited for the next day.

On weekends or trip to my mom's hometown in Pilar, we would be very excited.  My grandpa's house is very big in Pilar, they live near the ocean and they have 2 big dogs.  We would go to the beach barefoot, with the dogs and with our aunts and uncles.  This is paradise for me, my first glimpse to it.

Backpacking guide thru paradise

I love five things...history, travel, life, people and write.  And on this blog, I am combining this five things that really makes me happy.  I love life, but I also believe that living is different from life.  We could have life but cannot live...live the way we want it to be and live according to our dreams.  In my journey, I have met a lot of people, some are just mere acquiantances and some mark their journeys into mine.  Some will not remember me anymore if they knew me one minute or another.  But surely, their life is worth mentioning because somehow, they have lend me their ears and me on them.

I am always been a curious person, curious on other people's lives, on their journeys, on their dreams and what makes them who they are.  This curiosity is not because I love gossip but because I have always wanted to know people, to understand them and thru this understanding, I knew that I could be able to love them for what they are and not what I wanted them to be.

I love the movie, 5 people you've met in heaven, not because it is a mainstream book but because I do believe that in this paradise that we live in, we just don't met people because of mere coincidences but because one way or another, they will or have touched our lives.

This is my story, the story of my life, the story of people I had meet, have met and will met along the way.  The story of my travels, from a little town in the Visayas, to the city named Paranaque, to a province named Cavite and outside the Philippines.

This is my backpacking guide thru this paradise.
